THE BRONX — A Bronx man was dragged four blocks to his death by an SUV driver who he had agreed to buy an Armani jacket from, according to police.

Dennis Gandarilla, 49, met the man at the intersection of East 156th Street and Kelly streets in Longwood around noon on Tuesday to do the deal, the NYPD said.

Gandarilla was near the passenger side of the suspect's Jeep Grand Cherokee when the driver hit the gas, speeding off and dragging the victim, who clung to the side of the vehicle, according to police.

The Jeep sped West on East 156th Street, then turned north on Rev. Ricardo Tanon Avenue before heading west on Macy Place, when Gandarilla fell to the ground, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Lincoln Hospital but could not be saved.

Police are now asking for help finding the Jeep Grand Cherokee and its driver, who was described as approximately 40 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
