EAST VILLAGE — A man shot and seriously wounded another man on Avenue C late Sunday night, police said.

The gunman opened fire shortly before midnight between East 11th and East 12th streets, police said, striking the 29-year-old victim in the torso and left arm, according to authorities.

The shooter wore a black hoodie, according to a police source. A black hoodie and a black ski mask were recovered near the site of the shooting, the source said.

The victim was taken by private means to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning and the investigation remains ongoing.

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the shooting.

Editor's Note: Police initially stated the victim was riding a bike at the time of the shooting, but have since said that was not the case.
