ASTORIA — A sex attacker is on the loose after repeatedly groping a young woman at a busy corner as she walked from a subway station at night, according to the NYPD.

The 22-year-old victim was walking near the usually busy corner of Astoria Boulevard and 29th Street around 8 p.m. on Oct. 10 when a stranger approached her from behind and touched her breast, police said.

The man followed the woman as she tried to get away and groped her again in groin area, police said. The victim then ran and started screaming, prompting the attacker to flee, the NYPD said.

A post in the Awesome Astoria Facebook group said that neighbors unsuccessfully tried to chase the suspect down and urged locals to take extra precaution with the sun setting earlier.

Police did not immediately have a description of the attacker, and there had been no arrests as of Monday afternoon, police said.
