MANHATTAN — A person was fatally struck by a train on the Upper East Side Thursday evening, officials said.

The victim was hit at the 77th Street 6 train station at about 6:32 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said, and pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not immediately clear how the victim fell in front of the train.

6 trains were running express in both directions between 125th Street and Grand Central after the incident.

Some 5 trains were running over the 2 line between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Nevins Street.

Riders could also expect delays on the 4 and 2 lines.
