MANHATTAN — A woman stole a man's $37,000 watch inside his Battery Park City apartment when the two went back to his place after meeting at an Italian restaurant nearby, police said.

The woman stole the pricey timepiece inside the 46-year-old victim's apartment near Murray Street and River Terrace after the man passed out just after midnight on Oct. 3, later telling police he thought his drink had been spiked, sources said. 

The suspect, who had met the man at a nearby Italian spot before the theft, fled the apartment eastbound on Murray Street, police said. 

The individual was described as in her in her 20s, standing 5-foot-5, weighing 120 pounds, with black hair and last seen wearing all black.  

A rash of similar thefts have been reported in recent months, with some victims reporting becoming dizzy and passing out before having their expensive jewelry stolen.
