NOHO — Decades-old neighborhood staple The Noho Star will shutter on New Year's Eve, according to state records and the restaurant's manager.

The restaurant, which has been serving up American and Chinese cuisine at 330 Lafayette St. for 30 years, will shutter on Dec. 31, manager Julia Lisowski confirmed Tuesday, without elaborating on the reason.

As first reported by Jeremiah's Vanishing New York, the owners of the restaurant filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) on Sept. 26 with the State Department of Labor — a notification required by federal law when a large layoff will impact 50 or more employees.

That notification noted 54 employees will lose their jobs when the eatery closes at the end of the year. It lists the reason for closure as "economic."
