WEST BRIGHTON — A man was found stabbed to death sitting in a chair inside a West Brighton home early Saturday morning, police said Monday.
Police responded to a call of an assault at 161 Elm St., where they found James Miles, 51, of Clifton, sitting on a chair with stab wounds to his torso at about 3:58 a.m., the NYPD said.
Miles was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A spokesman for the NYPD said several people in the home at the time told officers they did not see or hear anything. One witness reported to police seeing a woman flee the house after the stabbing. Alcohol may have been involved, the spokesman said.
Miles had 22 arrests since 1983, mostly for driving with a suspended license. His most recent unsealed arrest was in 2006 for robbery, police said.
No arrests have been made, and police said an investigation is ongoing.
