By Nicholas Rizzi | September 25, 2017 10:48am

TRAVIS — A Staten Island man died after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of box truck, whose driver fled the scene, police said.

Matthew Randazzo, 28, of Rossville, was riding his 2002 Honda motorcycle southbound on West Service Road Sunday when he struck the rear of the truck near Victory Boulevard at 11:03 a.m., the NYPD said.

The driver of the box truck did not stop, authorities said.

Emergency workers arrived and found Randazzo unconscious with trauma to the body and took him to Staten Island University Hospital South where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident can submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers, or by calling 1-800-577-TIPS.
