QUEENS — Police are looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of another man disguised as a woman and carrying a gun.

Sources said Terrence Payne, 21, of South Jamaica, was planning to rob or shoot someone in an ambush while he was wearing a wig, dress and holding a purse while walking with a gun on 164th Street on Aug. 18.

But Payne got into a fight with another man, possibly connected to the person he was planning to ambush, on 164th Street between South Road and 107th Avenue.

Investigators believe that's when Kwashan Butler, 28, walked up and shot Payne in the left thigh, sources said.

The shooting may have been drug related, sources added.

Payne, who had 10 prior arrests, mostly for weapons and drug possession, died three days after he was shot.

Butler, who is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, has 14 prior arrests, most recently for drug possession and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the NYPD.

Several eyewitnesses picked out Butler from a photo array, police said.
