CHELSEA — A kind-hearted woman invited a homeless man she knew up to her apartment to take a shower — only to have him turn around and steal her television, police said.

The 52-year-old victim — who had seen the man around the neighborhood and often talked to him — let the suspect into her apartment on Seventh Avenue, near West 18th Street, to use her shower around 6 p.m. on Aug. 31, the NYPD said.

The woman then left her apartment to go buy food while the man was cleaning up, returning about 10 minutes later to discover her $250 TV missing and the suspect nowhere to be seen, police said.

The man hadn't been arrested in connection with the theft as of Wednesday.

Other recent notable incidents in the 10th Precinct include:

► A 23-year-old man was arrested for punching a 33-year-old patron in the face inside Chelsea Square Diner, at 368 W. 23rd St., around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, police said. The victim was left with a swollen face, but refused medical treatment. A manager working at the diner Wednesday said he wasn't aware of the incident.

► A 27-year-old man was cuffed after he punched a window at Seamore’s restaurant, at 161 Eighth Ave., around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, the NYPD said. The man admitted he punched the window and refused medical treatment. A manager working at the restaurant on Wednesday said he wasn't sure why the man did it, adding that the eatery is in the process of repairing the window.

► A trio of homeless people — including a 26-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman and a 43-year-old woman — were arrested after police spotted them with crack cocaine in front of a building at 406 W. 40th St., near Ninth Avenue, around 3:26 p.m. on Sept. 1, the NYPD said. “I’m sorry officer, I’ll cooperate,” the 26-year-old man told police. “I don’t want to go to jail,” the 28-year-old woman added. The 43-year-old woman, meanwhile, told police she had a bag of crack in her pocket.

► A 50-year-old man was cuffed after he broke the glass door of a dryer inside BKM Laundromat at 525 Ninth Ave., near West 39th Street, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, the NYPD said. When officers searched the man, they found an item containing crack cocaine residue in his front left pants pocket. The laundromat's manager wasn't available for comment Wednesday.

► A 57-year-old man was arrested after he headbutted a 33-year-old man at the northwest corner of West 16th Street and 10th Avenue around 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, police said. The two had been arguing prior to the attack.
