WILLIAMSBURG — An armed robber wearing a Chicago Bulls cap made off with $1,500 in cash after holding up a Grand Street liquor store, the NYPD said.

The gun-toting thief walked into Ming Star Liquor, at 598 Grand St. between Lorimer and Leonard streets, around 10:08 p.m. Monday and asked a 33-year-old man working at the counter to fork over cash, police said.

The employee handed over $1,500 in cash, and the thief fled eastbound on Grand Street with the money, the NYPD said.

No one was injured during the robbery, police said.

Police are now searching for an approximately 25-year-old man standing 5-foot-9 who was last seen wearing a gray and black Nike jacket, jeans, white sneakers and a black Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

An employee working at the store on Tuesday said she couldn’t comment on the robbery, and the store’s manager couldn’t be reached for comment.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
