By Trevor Kapp | September 1, 2017 7:53am

THE BRONX — A 100-year-old man accidentally shot himself in his thigh inside his East 162nd Street home and was later charged with weapons possession, according to police.

Pedro Detres, who was born in March 1917, was handling his revolver inside his home near Sheridan Avenue when the gun went off Thursday sometime before 10:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

Police learned about Detres' injury after responding to a call at the address for an emotionally distrubed person, NYPD officials said.

Detres was later taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was treated for the wound.

He was later charged with weapons possession, according to police.

He has no prior arrests, the NYPD said.
