
MANHATTAN — A man who jumped off the Staten Island Ferry near Governors Island late Thursday night still has not been found, authorities said.
Crews with the Coast Guard, NYPD and FDNY scoured the waters between Manhattan and Staten Island for more than two hours after the man leapt from the bow of the Spirit of America about 10:15 p.m., Coast Guard officials said.

Onboard cameras captured footage of the man dropping into the water, Coast Guard officials said.
The ferry's crew tossed a life ring into the water and dropped a small boat into the water, officials said.
Ferry rider Annemarie Dooling tweeted an account of the chaos that erupted after the man leaped.

The NYPD called off its search just before 1 a.m., but the Coast Guard continued through the night without any results, officials said.
Officials with the NYPD and Department of Transportation, which operates the ferry, didn't immediately provide further information about the incident.
