MELROSE — A Bronx man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend's new beau in the head in broad daylight Sunday, police said.
The victim, Victor Marquez, 44, approached Deshawn Brown, 20, who was out on bail after a January gun and drug arrest, about 4 p.m. in front of 3125 Park Ave., authorities said.
Brown shot Marquez and then ran into the Park Avenue building where police eventually arrested, officials said.
Marquez was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital, officials said.
Brown was arraigned Monday on murder, manslaughter and other charges in Bronx Criminal Court, records show.
He was held without bail and due back in court on Friday, records show.
Brown, who lives close to where the shooting occurred, has been arrested 12 times before, police said.
