BAY RIDGE — A man fatally stabbed his roommate in front of the attacker's mother and daughter inside the apartment they all shared on Bay Ridge Avenue Wednesday morning, police said.
The man, 42, stabbed the woman, 52, at 877 Bay Ridge Ave., near Ninth Avenue, about 7:20 a.m., NYPD officials said. Neither of their names was released.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, FDNY officials said.
"I heard screaming this morning. There was a fight. I heard a woman," said Danielle Monk, who lives behind where the stabbing took place.
The roommate was renting a room in the apartment that the suspect's mom and daughter also lived in, and both family members were present for the stabbing, police said.
The suspect was treated at Maimonides Hospital for a shoulder injury, police said. He was awaiting formal charges.
"They pulled this middle-aged guy out in cuffs and there was just a sea of cops," added Cliff Hoffman, who lives nearby.
It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the stabbing.
