LONG ISLAND CITY — A new rooftop pool opened last week in the shadow of the Queensboro Bridge that offers cocktails, oysters and skyline views starting at $50 a day.

Profundo Pool Club debuted Thursday on the third-floor rooftop of the Ravel Hotel's new 10-story expansion at 8-08 Queens Plaza South, where swimmers can cool off in the 50-by-20 foot pool and lounge on "Bali-inspired" daybeds.

The club's bar serves cocktails, rosé and 15 beers on tap, while the dining menu includes "elevated" bar food like burgers and fish tacos, as well as sushi, lobster rolls and raw oysters that run $26 for a dozen.

Access to the club starts at $50 for a nine-hour day pass, and visitors can also reserve cabanas for two people for $200, which includes a $200 food and beverage credit.

The pool is one of the latest amenities to open as part of the expansion of the Ravel Hotel, which constructed a 10-story tower adjacent to its original building that nearly doubled its total size.

The expansion also included the Estate Garden Grill, an outdoor eatery and beer garden that opened in June, as well as 50 new hotel rooms and a 17,000 square-foot-ballroom.

Profundo Pool Club will close for the season Sept. 17, according to its website.

Reservations can be made online
