QUEENS— A Kew Gardens man was fatally struck by a minivan Sunday as he attempted to cross the street, according to police.
Christopher Swanson, 71, was found in the street with trauma to his body after he was hit by a man who was trying to reverse his 2015 Honda Odyssey on 120th Street near 85th avenue around 10:27 a.m., police said.
He was taken to Jamaica Medical Center where he died of his injuries Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
The 38-year old driver stayed on the scene and an investigation is ongoing, police said Wednesday.
