THE BRONX — An 84-year-old man with a history of public lewdness was arrested for masturbating in front of children on the downtown 5 train Saturday, police said.
Undercover officers saw Francisco Cuevas board the train and proceeded to masturbate in front of three children, Bronx prosecutors charge.
When officers arrested him on Tremont Avenue he said, “I know it’s wrong, I’m sorry,” according to the criminal complaint.
He pleaded guilty to charges of public lewdness and was sentenced to a short three days in jail.
Cuevas has a record of committing lewd acts on the subway.
He was arrested in 2014 for masturbating in front of a young girl on a northbound 5 train. He apologized to police for that incident as well, according to the criminal complaint.
In 2016, Cuevas was caught by undercover officers for masturbating on the 2 train, while eyeing under-aged girls, but that case was disposed of since he stayed out of trouble for more than a year, according to a Bronx DA spokesperson.
Cuevas is not registered as a level 2 or 3 sex offender according to the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
