UPPER EAST SIDE — A 16-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint of his North Face backpack in Central Park over the weekend, police said.
The boy was sitting on a bench by the basketball courts near 85th Street and East Drive when two teens came up to him about 9 p.m. Saturday and told him to “run his pockets," the NYPD said.
He refused, and one of the robbers tried to grab the bag containing a Louis Vuitton wallet and belt, according to police.
When the boy fought back, one of the attackers whipped out a knife, and the teen forked over the backpack, the NYPD said.
The suspects then fled west inside the park, police said.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
