ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested Saturday after he stabbed another man with a scalpel while waiting for the bus outside the St. George Ferry Terminal, authorities said.

Kaasheif Gresham, 22, stabbed a 33-year-old man in the neck and forearm at Ramp C in the terminal at about 2:14 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.

Officers tracked Gresham down about 10 minutes later and arrested him in front of 95 Victory Blvd., the NYPD said.

The victim was given stitches for his injuries, prosecutors said.

His suspect's lawyer, Michael Harding, did not immediately respond to a request for comment but told the Staten Island Advance Gresham was acting in self-defense.

"My client was pushing a [baby] carriage when he was confronted," Harding told the paper. "[The man] pushed my client and my client's wife, and started screaming at them for no reason."

Gresham was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment at his Sunday arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said. His bail was set $100,000 bond, $200,000 cash.

He was arrested several times before including for conspiracy in 2014 and attempted murder when shot a person in the forearm and left hand when he was 16, police said. He was also arrested on gang assault charges in 2013 after he assaulted members of staff inside a correctional facility, officials said.

Gresham spent time in prison after he was convicted on weapon's charges in The Bronx, according to Department of Corrections records.
