THE BRONX — An bystander and the target of a botched chain-snatching were shot Sunday in Soundview, according to the NYPD.

A 30-year old man was hit in the leg after someone confronted him and demanded his chain in front of 1053 Boynton Ave near Watson Street at 8:50 p.m., said police

A 62-year old man, who was not involved, was shot in the leg and stomach during the incident, authorities said.

“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” a police source said.

The suspect fled the scene empty handed.

Both men were taken to Jacobi Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
