PARK SLOPE — Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down two thieves who mugged a woman on Prospect Avenue earlier this month.

The pair approached a 37-year-old woman from behind in front of 467 Prospect Ave. between Prospect Park West and Eighth Avenue on July 3 at 11 p.m., said police.

One suspect threw a shirt or hooded sweatshirt over the victim's head while his accomplice raided her pockets and purse. As she struggled, the thieves swiped the woman's wallet, which contained $300 and also grabbed her Samsung Galaxy cell phone.

The two suspects slammed the woman to the ground, and the fall opened up a cut on her right elbow, but she refused medical attention at the scene, officials said.

Video released by the NYPD shows two male suspects walking on Prospect Park West between Windsor Place and Prospect Avenue immediately before the attack.

Police said the first male suspect who approached the woman was last seen wearing a light colored T-shirt, black Adidas pants and dark colored sneakers with a shirt or hooded sweatshirt draped over his shoulder. The second robber wore a blue T-shirt, dark shorts and black sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
