GRAVESEND — Police have identified the BMW driver who fatally struck a skateboarding teen before fleeing on Sunday, NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said Friday.

“We’re just working with the DA’s Office now as we move forward to make sure we have a good case,” O’Neill said.

Alejandro Tello, 18, was skating along Avenue T when he was struck by the SUV, which was turning right onto West 10th Street about 3:10 p.m., police said.

Investigators found the vehicle hours later on Bay 14th Street early Monday but were still seeking the driver, who they have identified but have not named.

Tello’s grieving family said they forgave the driver but wanted him to surrender to authorities.

"Alex wasn't very religious, but he believed there was a God,” his brother Ben Tello, 20, said. “To forgive others, [that] was him. We're trying to do the same.”
