QUEENS — A brazen robber who failed to steal money from one Forest Hills bank successfully robbed another branch about 10 minutes later, police said.

The suspect first walked into the Queens County Savings bank at 107-40 Queens Blvd. Friday where he approached a 64-year-old bank teller around 9:35 a.m. and passed a note demanding money. The teller refused and the man fled the location, officials said.

The man did not give up and about 10 minutes later entered another bank — the Capital One branch at 107-18 71 Ave. — located just around the corner. He approached a 24-year-old bank teller and passed a note demanding money. The teller complied and the robber fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, according to the NYPD.

Police described the robber as 5-foot-10, weighing about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing beige shorts and a blue shirt.

The suspect remains at large, authorities said Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
