QUEENS — A small chain of Japanese restaurants with locations in Astoria and Long Island City will soon open its third outpost in Forest Hills, representatives for the eatery said.

The chain, known for dishes such as Miso Ramen, Shio Ramen and Shoyu Ramen, opened its first location called Tamashii Ramen in Astoria in 2013. Two years later, it expanded to Long Island City where the group opened Tamashii Blue.

The Forest Hills restaurant, called Tamashii Red, will be located at 71-34 Austin St., where shoe retailer Nine West once was.

The representatives said they hope to open the 2,900 square-foot eatery later this year.

According to a broker, the group signed a 15-year lease, and will occupy the ground floor as well as the lower level of the building, located between Victoria’s Secret and Sephora.

Brokers are still looking for a tenant to occupy the building’s second floor, which was formerly used as a spa, they said.

This will be a second restaurant specializing in ramen noodles along the busy commercial corridor in Forest Hills, after I Ramen Teriyaki opened at 72-34 Austin St. in May.
