MANHATTAN — A man who had been drinking heavily at a nearby bar fell and fatally struck his head on Christopher Street early Wednesday morning, police said.

The 33-year-old man, whose identity wasn't immediately released, fell outside 110 Christopher St., near Bedford Street, about 2:16 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

He was found with "slight bruising" to his head and was lying face down when emergency responders arrived, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Lenox Hill, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear at which bar the man had been drinking.

Investigators don't believe his death involved any criminality, police said.
