BUSHWICK — A toddler was found barefoot and alone sitting on a Bushwick sidewalk early Friday morning, police said.

Passersby spotted a 3-year-old boy at 5:20 a.m. on the corner of Evergreen Avenue and Himrod Street and called the police. Emergency workers took the child to Woodhull Hospital for observation, police said.

By 7:25 a.m. police had located the boy's father and were continuing the investigation, a spokeswoman said.

It wasn't immediately clear how the boy got out of his home undetected.
