MANHATTAN — A 17-year-old boy was fatally struck by a box truck while riding through a red light in Hell's Kitchen early Thursday, police said.

Corbin Carr, of the Upper East Side, was riding north on 10th Avenue in the eastern lane when he blew through the red and was hit by a westbound Izuzu truck heading down West 55th Street about 12:10 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

NYPD officials couldn't say how they knew the boy rode through the red light.

Carr suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said.

The box truck's driver, a 29-year-old man, stayed at the scene and wasn't immediately arrested or ticketed, police said.

Police are still investigating, they said.
