THE BRONX — Police have arrested a man they say had been on the run for more than two weeks after attacking his mom and her boyfriend with a kitchen knife inside the family's Mott Haven home.

Esteban Ortiz, 25, cut his 43-year-old mother on the wrist and stabbed her 40-year-old boyfriend in the torso and hand following a verbal spat inside the apartment on East 146th Street and Willis Avenue June 10 about 8:35 p.m., police said.

They were both taken to Lincoln Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ortiz was arrested Tuesday by the NYPD's Warrant Squad and charged with assault, police said.

He has one prior arrest for criminal sale of marijuana, the NYPD said.
