THE BRONX — A man was shot to death and a woman was wounded while sitting inside a BMW following a music festival in Hunts Point Sunday, police sources said.

The people, both 34, were sitting in the vehicle near Oak Point Avenue and Tiffany Street and talking to a group of people when a gunman approached and opened fire about 6:15 p.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said.

They had just come from the Moksha Festival of Fun, which celebrates Soca music. The man appeared to be the intended target, law-enforcement sources said.

Bullets pierced the torso of the man, and he died at an area hospital, police said.

"He was shot numerous times," a police source said. "For him to walk right up and shoot him like that, obviously he knows him. Maybe he settled some old score."

The woman, who is also from Brooklyn, was shot in the leg and treated at an area hospital for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, police said.

The gunman was still at large Monday afternoon.
