MANHATTAN — Sounds like quite the recipe.

A teen shoplifter tried to swipe nearly $130 worth of chicken, spaghetti sauce, fruit and other groceries from the Whole Foods Market in Chelsea, the NYPD said.

An employee spotted the 19-year-old trying to leave the store at 250 Seventh Ave., between West 24th and 25th streets, with $10 worth of berries, $22 worth of chicken, a $4 bottle of oil, $9 worth of chocolates, $14 worth of bananas and yogurt, four spaghetti sauce bottles worth $21, and $39 worth of bagels, butter, juice and hummus around 7:10 p.m. on June 17, police said.

The man tried to hide the approximately $127 worth of groceries as he left the store, though it wasn’t clear where, the NYPD said.

A manager working at the store on Wednesday declined to comment on the incident.
