QUEENS — The Aldo store Forest Hills closed last week for remodeling and is scheduled to reopen in August, the shoe chain said.

The entire store at 71-02 Austin St., which sells shoes, handbags and jewelry, will be revamped and its lights will be modified as part of the $179,000 makeover, according to city records.

“The store will be unveiling a brand new look, providing a more integrated shopping experience,” company spokeswoman Marine Jegard said in an email, without elaborating.

“Heads Up — We’re Getting a Makeover,” signs posted in the store windows read. “Opening early fall 2017."

The signs also inform residents that the nearest Aldo is currently located at the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst and that the company is hiring.
