YORKVILLE — A burglar snuck into an apartment through an unlocked kitchen window and snatched more than $6,500 in electronics and gift cards, police said.
The 38-year-old victim returned home to his East 85th Street apartment, between Second and Third avenues, on Wednesday around 6 p.m. to find his front door unlocked and the kitchen window open.
When he searched his apartment, he realized that someone had taken a pair of Apple laptops, store gift cards and debit cards totaling more than $6,500, according to the NYPD.
The 19th Precinct's auxiliary officers went door to door yesterday to remind residents to lock their windows and doors before leaving their apartments.
