NEW YORK CITY — Grab the popcorn.
If you played hooky Thursday to watch the much-anticipated James Comey hearing scheduled for 10 a.m., here's a few places that will be airing the event live:
► SideBar: The Unions Square sports bar on East 15th Street has pub fare and plenty of flat screens to watch the testimony in a big-game atmosphere. The bar is planning to open at 9:30 a.m., per their Facebook invite, so you can “get some early drink because face it, you might need it.”
► Q.E.D.: This Astoria “after-school space for grown-ups” will open early to show the hearing on its 9-foot screen, per their invite. It is located on 23rd Avenue at the corner of 28th Street.
► South 4th Bar & Cafe: If you’re in Brooklyn, you can head to South 4th Bar at 9 a.m. to stake your place in front of the TV. The Facebook invite said the bar may even provide “sacks of Egg McMuffins” to munch on. The venue is located on South 4th and Berry streets in Williamsburg.
Some New Yorkers even suggested bringing the kids along:
