UPPER WEST SIDE — A Columbia student was clinging to life after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Riverside Drive early Monday, police said.

The 19-year-old student was in the crosswalk on Riverside Drive near West 115th Street when he was hit by a red sedan around 12:25 a.m., the NYPD said.

Surveillance footage released by police Monday afternoon shows the moment before he was struck.

The car then fled the scene. Police said the vehicle may have damage to its front windshield on the passenger side.

The student, who turns 20 later this month, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with critical head injuries. He was undergoing surgery Monday afternoon, NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.

No arrests have been made, according to police.
