CHELSEA — Irish writer Colm Tóibín will give a free reading at an art gallery on West 21st Street next week.

The author, who has written bestselling novels including “The Master,” “Brooklyn,” and “Nora Webster,” will read at the Paula Cooper Gallery at 521 W. 21st St., between 10th and 11th avenues, on Wednesday, June 7 at 7 p.m.

He will read from his latest book “House of Names," according to 192 Books, which is presenting the reading along with the gallery.

In the novel, Tóibín "inhabits the mind of one of Greek myth’s most powerful villains to reveal the love, lust, and pain she feels," the bookstore's website says.

Patrons who purchase the novel from 192 Books prior to the event will be guaranteed a seat, but the event is open to the general public, employee Haley Thompson said Thursday.
