WILLIAMSBURG — A burglar forced his way into two different Williamsburg apartment buildings and snatched a bike, backpacks, a coat, sneakers and luggage that residents had left in the hallways, police said.

The suspect first pushed his way into a building near the intersection of Throop Avenue and Moore Street at around 4:25 a.m. on May 7, police said.

Once inside, he took a $70 bicycle and a $20 backpack from the hallway, police said.

Later on May 22, also around 4:30 a.m., the thief struck again, forcing open the front door of a building at Broadway and Hooper Street, police said.

There he took a 40-year-old woman's backpack worth $81, another bag worth $100, a black coat $350, and an $110 pair of Puma sneakers, police said.

The man, thought to be in his 20s or 30s, was last seen sporting a beard and wearing a gray hoodie, beige pants and black sneakers.

Anyone with information in to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
