EAST HARLEM— A man smoking crack claimed he was assaulted and robbed by a pair of cross-dressing men, police said.
The 34-year-old victim told police he was smoking crack and drinking alcohol near East 128th Street and Third Avenue on May 10 around 8:15 p.m. when two men dressed as women walked up and pummeled him before taking $395 in cash from his wallet.
The victim was punched in the face multiple times and left with a bloody nose and lip, police noted.
The assailants then fled the scene on foot, while the victim was taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment, police said.
The victim described the suspects as men to police but also said one of them was wearing what appeared to be a long wig, as well as a black dress or skirt. The second suspect had short hair and was wearing sneakers and a T-shirt, the victim told police.
One of the suspects was described as in his 40s, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing about 180 pounds, police said. The other suspect was described as standing 6-foot-3.
