Teen Shot in Head With Rifle Full of Blanks During Quiz Game: NYPD

THE BRONX — A 14-year-old boy was shot in the head with a rifle full of blanks during a Russian-roulette-style quiz game, NYPD officials said.

The victim and his cousin went to the home of Kjuan Lanclos, 19, at the Sedgwick Houses on Tuesday when Lanclos brought out a .22-caliber rifle with blank bullets inside, put it to the victim's forehead and asked him a question, police said.

When the boy couldn't answer correctly, Lanclos pulled the trigger, police said.

Lanclos then tried to cover up the incident by telling doctors that the boy was injured in a fall, but came clean when they conducted scans of the victim's head, police said.

The teen, whose name was not released, was treated at an area hospital where he's listed in stable condition, police said.

Lanclos, who hadn't been arraigned as of Thursday morning, has been arrested once before, but police records are sealed, police said.
