UPPER WEST SIDE — Police are looking for a burglar who broke into mailrooms in the basements of several Manhattan Valley buildings, stealing everything from dog food to a mug, the NYPD said.

In the last of three incidents, the suspect snuck into 472 Central Park West around 5:45 a.m. on April 21, using a card to open one door before ramming through a second door to the building's mailroom, the NYPD said.

The burglar swiped items worth a total of $101, including dog food, writing utensils, a dry-erase board, wall decal stickers and a mug, according to police.

The suspect had struck twice before — once on April 15 around 8:05 a.m. and a second time on April 18 about 4:58 a.m., all in the vicinity of Central Park West and Manhattan Avenue, police said.

In all three cases, he used a card to open a first door before forcefully entering the mailroom with his shoulder. Once inside, he opened packages, pocketed merchandise and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Security footage captured the suspect, who was described as between 40 and 50 years old, busting into a mailroom on April 15.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
