MANHATTAN — A person was taken to the hospital after a vehicle flipped over just outside the entrance to the Holland Tunnel Monday afternoon, according to the FDNY.
The vehicle, which appeared to be an SUV from social media posts, overturned at the intersection of Varick and Spring streets at about 3:49 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.
One person was taken to Bellevue Hospital, though it was not clear if they were inside the SUV, or how badly they were injured.
There were residual delays in the tunnel while the vehicle was cleared, according to the Port Authority.
The previous alert at the Holland Tunnel to NJ due to an incident on Varick St. is no longer in effect. There may be residual delays. [11]
