NYPD Civilian Employee Stole and Cashed Co-Worker's Paycheck, Police Say

STATEN ISLAND — A civilian employee of the NYPD swiped a paycheck belonging a co-worker, police said.

Calissa Alston, 27, who worked as a civilian custodial assistant for the NYPD, was arrested on Thursday and charged with petit larceny and possession of a forged instrument by police.

Alston took another co-worker's paycheck from an NYPD facility, signed it then cashed it for herself, a spokesman for the agency said.

Police could not say how much the check was for or where the facility was, but the Staten Island Advance reported it was inside the 121 Precinct.
