HELL’S KITCHEN — Moviegoers can munch on sliders and sip on cocktails at a new theater slated to open in a luxury West 57th Street building.

Landmark at 57 West — which is slated to open at the base of the Durst Organization’s pyramidal building Via 57 West, on West 57th Street near 12th Avenue — will include a dining area set to serve a host of dishes and drinks.

A tentative food menu includes salads, cheese and hummus plates, “savory bites” like tacos, pulled pork sliders, popcorn shrimp and crab cake sandwiches, standard theater fare and a range of desserts, according to plans filed with Community Board 4.

Bottled and draft beers, white, red and sparkling wines, and cocktails including the “W. 57th” featuring Hennessy V.S, Grand Marnier, sweet vermouth and Peychaud’s Bitters round out the drinks menu.

“It’s kind of a requirement these days for a movie theater," Landmark Theatres’ senior vice president of real estate and development Michael Fant told CB 4's liquor license committee Tuesday, in a bid to secure a license.

The theater chain doesn’t have any current plans to serve food and drinks inside the theaters, as popularized by the Nitehawk Cinema and Alamo Drafthouse, Fant noted.

“It’s difficult to go in and not make noise in the auditoriums when you’re serving,” he explained. “Our patrons are all cinephiles.”

The committee ultimately approved the request to serve cocktails, wine and beer in the theater's ground-floor restaurant space.

The Landmark at 57 West will screen a medley of independent and mainstream films. The opening date has not yet been announced.
