UPPER WEST SIDE — Four neighborhood schools will split $1 million in funding thanks to community voting during this year's participatory budgeting process.

Neighbors voted to divide the cash from City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal's budget among P.S. 166, P.S. 9, Frank McCourt High School and P.S. 84.

► Upgrades to the P.S. 166 library, priced at $295,000, received 1,834 votes.

► Air conditioning for the gym shared by P.S. 9 and the Center School, which will cost $400,000, received 1,398 votes.

► Technology upgrades at Frank McCourt High School worth a total of $125,000 earned 1,310 votes.

► And the $450,000 renovation of the school yard at P.S. 84 tallied 1,304 votes.

Rosenthal announced the results last week at a town hall meeting at the Center at West Park.

Nearly a 1,000 more Upper West Siders cast their ballot in the 2017 participatory budgeting vote than the previous year's — 3,111 to 2,167 — according to the councilwoman's office.
