Subway Rider Touches Himself Next to Woman Aboard E Train, Police Say

MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a straphanger who touched himself while sitting next to a woman aboard an E train in Midtown, the NYPD said. 

The suspect was riding the northbound train as it left the station at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue Sunday at 5:30 p.m. when a 30-year-old woman sat down next to him, police said. 

The man then began to touch his groin, leading the victim to move away, but not before snapping a photo of the suspect as she got off the train at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station, the NYPD said. 

He was described as 30 to 40 years old, standing 5-foot-8, weighing 170 pounds, and last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
