NYPD Officer Arrested For Assaulting In-Law In Front of 2 Kids, Sources Say

By Trevor Kapp | April 14, 2017 10:20am

BROOKLYN — An NYPD officer was charged with assault early Friday for attacking her in-law in front of two young children during a domestic dispute in Canarsie, police sources said.

Michelle Sharpe, 34, a 10-year NYPD veteran who works in a Staten Island precinct, punched and kicked her 28-year-old female in-law inside a house on East 107th Street and Flatlands Avenue about 1:20 a.m., sources said.

Sharpe and Selina Sharpe, 22, were charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child because two kids, ages 1 and 5, were inside the house. The children were unharmed, sources said.

The relationship between the Sharpes wasn’t immediately clear.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital and treated for her injuries. The kids, who were crying hysterically, were also taken there as a precaution, sources said.

The Sharpes were awaiting arraignment Friday morning.
