LOWER EAST SIDE — A delivery worker bringing food to the Baruch Houses Friday night was robbed by five men in the building's lobby, police said.

The 40-year-old man was attempting to make a delivery to an apartment at 60 Columbia St. around 9:50 p.m. when he was approached by five men in the stairwell leading to the first floor with one saying, "Give me your money," police said.

The victim tried to walk away, but the suspects followed and surrounded him in the lobby, according to a police report. One of the suspects punched him in the face, the victim told police, causing minor swelling.

Two of the men then snatched his delivery bag, which contained $30 worth of food, ripping his jacket in the process, police said.
