Gunman's Weapon Jams During Sunset Park Fight, NYPD Says [VIDEO]

By Ben Fractenberg | April 11, 2017 3:56pm

BROOKLYN — A man tried to open fire into a Sunset Park store following a fight with a pair of men, but his weapon jammed before he could squeeze off a round, according to a video released by the NYPD.

The gunman, believed to be in his 20s, was with an accomplice when he got into an argument with two other men inside the business near Eighth Avenue and 58th Street at about 9:40 p.m. Monday, police said.

The dispute soon escalated and the suspects left and quickly returned — and one of them walked into the business while holding a gun, video of the incident showed.

When he tried to fire at one of the men they had been arguing with, the gun jammed, police said. His accomplice then cut one of the men with a sharp object.

Both attackers fled and the victim was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

Police said the attempted shooter is about 5-foot-10 with black hair and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jacket and white T-shirt.

His partner was also about 5-foot-10 with black hair and was last seen wearing a blood hooded jacket and tan pants, according to the NYPD.
