Woman Pelted with Candy on C Train Before Getting Punched in the Face: NYPD

BROOKLYN — A woman was pelted with candy by a group of teenagers who followed her off the C train and punched her in the face in Bedford-Stuyvesant, NYPD officials said.

The 23-year-old woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, got onto the C at Utica Avenue when teens started throwing the sweets at her about 7:25 p.m. March 2, police said.

She got off the train at Nostrand Avenue, but the group followed her and started arguing with her, police said.

One of them, who appeared to be a 16-year-old girl, slugged her in the face and then ran off, police said. There were no arrests as of Thursday morning, police said.

The victim refused medical attention, police said.

The teen who punched her is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches and 120 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit with a black jacket, police said.

Police released footage of her Wednesday night.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
