STATEN ISLAND — A man was fatally shot outside a Staten Island auto shop Tuesday night, police said.
Whalen Gurley Johnson, 27, was shot in the torso outside the shop at 227 Broad St. about 10:50 p.m., police said.
Johnson, of Port Richmond, was pronounced dead at Richmond University Medical Center, police said.
There were no immediate arrests, but police were questioning a person of interest, they said.
Investigators also recovered a gun, they said.
It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
